The United States and Iran again exchanged blows and threats. Trump accused Tehran of violating the ceasefire agreement

According to CENTCOM, the passage of commercial vessels through the strait continues. US President Donald Trump threatened to “finish things militarily”:

“It is quite possible that they will never learn anything! A moment may come when we can no longer exercise reasonable restraint and will be forced to finish by military means the work which we have very successfully begun. If this happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!”

In turn, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported a ballistic missile and drone attack on eight American targets, including the Ali es-Salem base in Kuwait and the port of Salman in Bahrain. Tehran claims to control the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz and threatens violators with “even tougher measures.”

The day before, the United States had already launched strikes on targets in Iran in response to a drone attack on the container ship Ever Lovely, sailing under the flag of Singapore in the Strait of Hormuz. According to CENTCOM, the targets were missile and drone storage facilities, as well as coastal radar stations.

Tehran has not officially admitted responsibility for the attack, but warned that passage along “unauthorized routes” is at the shipowners’ risk. It was the first known strike on a merchant ship in the strait since the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18 calling for a cessation of hostilities and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
