At least talk
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reported to the president that proposals for reforming the CIS “will preserve the Commonwealth as an important forum for our communication, strengthen the humanitarian component and ... will allow us to abandon those documents that were signed but remained on paper.” In fact, this is a verdict on the CIS. Instead of establishing economic and defense cooperation, as was once intended, the CIS remains doomed to a meaningless talk shop.

Star-solar speaker
The Speaker of the Federation Council continues to boldly revise traditional political science. Explaining the meaning of the new international, he stated: “The right, the left - all this remains in the mossy twentieth century, all these are the remnants of Marx... We strive vertically upward, to the stars, to the sun.” Thanks to this program, the Party of Life, according to the speaker, will enter parliament in 2007, and by 2011 it will receive a majority in parliament.

Russia was accused of genocide
In an interview with the Financial Times, Rachel Denber, head of HRW's Europe and Central Asia department, said that, according to their data, from 3 to 5 thousand people have disappeared in the republic since 1999. According to Ms. Denber, this topic does not receive sufficient coverage in European countries, largely due to the policy of “non-intervention” that the leaders of some European countries actually pursue.

Our GDP is growing on its own
In the first two months of 2005, investments grew by only 8 percent, said Economic Development Minister German Gref. “This is less compared to previous periods,” he emphasized. At the same time, gross domestic product grew by 5.2% in February compared to the same period last year. Obviously, the investment crisis will appear later. But if the attack on business continues, economic growth may stop altogether.

48:1
Turkish media, citing the newspaper Le Monde, reported that 48 students in France were affected by the law. 6 Muslim girls expelled from schools went to study abroad, another 17 entered private schools. Alsace distinguished itself the most, where 15 people were kicked out: either the Muslim women there are so principled, or the authorities are harmful. But in England, on the contrary, 15-year-old Shabina Begum won in court the right to go to classes in traditional Islamic attire.
