At the beginning of this year, some public figures and State Duma deputies published an appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office. It spoke of the need to close all national and religious Jewish organizations in Russia. As a result of a loud scandal, Alexander Krutov, one of the authors of the document, took the letter from the Prosecutor General's Office, but after some time a new message appeared, signed by five hundred people. It calls for the closure of only "some" Jewish organizations.
