Daily Journal:
The fact that Mr. Schlegel’s amendments will not pass in the form in which they were unanimously adopted in the first reading is, of course, good. And for me, as a journalist, as an editor, this gives me nothing but satisfaction. I think that our media law is good, and, as they say, the best is the enemy of the good. Any attempts to modify this law will not bring anything good. We really have a really good, working law on the media.

Make up, make up, make up
The President of the unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia Sergei Bagapsh arrives in Moscow today. His upcoming visit is already entangled in secrets and intrigue. First, an article appeared in Kommersant, which directly stated that Bagapsh was going to ask the Kremlin for permission to make peace with Georgia. It seems that a plan for the peaceful settlement of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict, drawn up jointly with Georgia, already exists.

The Yukos case turned Russian history around
While the new deputy prime ministers are still shining in the May sun with dark glasses, while they are preparing to work in tandem, as one team, the White House and the Kremlin, Vladimir Zhirinovsky said that there will be an amnesty and that Mikhail Khodorkovsky may fall under it. That they will suddenly take you and let you go. It’s a strange thing: the rumor that Khodorkovsky was about to be released has been growing and spreading throughout the last few days.

Who is afraid of the specter of dual power?
It’s an amazing thing, almost everyone is afraid of this - officials and ordinary people, political scientists and journalists, statists and liberals. Everyone agreed, and in discussions about Medvedev’s presidency the refrain is: “What will happen to Russia, in which two centers of power have appeared? Is it possible for us to have two kings at the same time?” Naturally, officials are confused and at a loss - with whom to coordinate, who to focus on, or, roughly speaking, to whom to register?

Daily Journal: MO-LOD-TSY!!!
Damn it, I think I’m opening a sports section here in “Hedgehog” on an ongoing basis! But that’s how the month of May turned out to be. Every other day, our athletes throw a holiday for the people, win one victory more grandiose than another, broadcast ratings break records, these successes become the main news in the country, and its two-headed leader does not have time to send congratulatory telegrams and receive the champions. This is cool! I know that not many fans come to these pages.

Report on the work done
Last week, a few days before the first meeting of the National Assembly, I promised to write a column about this event to the “daily magazine”. And I immediately caught myself on the fact that, as a “reporter”, I need intrigue - that is, in disputes, fights, boiling passions, difficult or generally not permitted substantial and personal contradictions.

Above the prejudices
In the opposition Above the prejudices May 19, 2008 Alexey Makarkin Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly, Harry Kasparov said that its participants should be higher than the prejudices. It seems that this is one of those political statements that is fully confirmed by practical actions. More recently, radical liberals disdained to cooperate with Black Hundreds, anti -Semites and Stalinists. Now these prejudices are successfully overcome.

Who finances terrorists
The leaders of terrorists in the North Caucasus received another portion of money, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Arkady Edelev said on Saturday in Nalchik. “These are both international tranches and financial funds received from criminal activities, including kidnappings,” Edelev said.
