So we talked
Medvedev’s speech on the occasion of Constitution Day would have remained unnoticed and of no interest to anyone, if not for Roman Dobrokhotov. Actually, even Dobrokhotov did not make this performance at all entertaining. But Dobrokhotov’s performance was excellent. And most importantly, short and succinct: “Shame on the amendments!” That, in fact, is all that should have been said on Constitution Day, and it was not Medvedev who said it, but Dobrokhotov.

Will joining OPEC help people move out of the Augean stables?
On December 11, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev made a statement about Russia’s possible entry into OPEC. This statement is not only economic, but also clearly political in nature. The Kremlin’s attempts to raise oil prices and gas prices tied to them at any cost are caused not only by the desire to prevent an economic catastrophe within the country, but also by an active desire to maintain the foreign policy positions that Moscow achieved during the period of the energy price boom.

Daily Journal:
There is a brazen attack by security forces on the rights of citizens. The leader in the team of security forces is, of course, the FSB - the ears of the FSB are clearly visible in these amendments. As I already said in connection with the amendments to the jury trial, a legal revolution is taking place. This is further confirmation of my words: the security officers are seizing power.

Bucket of dirt and criminal case
After the end of the March of Dissent in St. Petersburg on December 14, a bucket of dirt was poured on the leader of the local Yabloko branch, Maxim Reznik. A certain young man approached Reznik while he was sitting in a cafe with his party comrades and doused him. Reznik's associates and police detained the young man and the driver of the car in which he was about to leave. At the same time, there was another person who was filming what was happening on a video camera.

State spy mania
According to amendments to the Criminal Code, which the government submitted to the Duma on December 12, the use of the terms “traitor to the motherland” and “spy” may soon be significantly expanded. If until now only “hostile” actions that threaten the “external security” of Russia were considered treason, now anyone whom the authorities deem necessary can be considered traitors and spies, as in the old days.
