The construction of an Orthodox cultural center (the center itself, a temple and a seminary) in Paris is postponed. An agreement on the construction of an Orthodox church in France was reached between Patriarch Alexy II and President Nicola Sarkozy back in 2007, during a personal meeting. In 2010, Russia, having won the competition, purchased a plot of land on the Quai Branly, next to the Eiffel Tower, for 60 million euros.
