According to the head of the press service of the Russian Air Force, Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky, the car "Zhiguli", in which Major General Dementiev was, was fired from automatic weapons on Sunday at about 18:30 on the 423rd km of the Moscow-Minsk highway near the village of Arkhipovka. Major General Konstantin Dementiev, Deputy Commander of Strategic Aviation of the Russian Air Force, was killed on Sunday evening in the Smolensk region.
