1918 Proclamation of the Transcaucasian Republic
One hundred years ago, on April 22, 1918, the Transcaucasian Seim in Tiflis proclaimed the creation of the Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic within the territory of Baku, Elizavetpol, Erivan, Tiflis, Kutaisi provinces, Batumi and Kars regions, Zakatal and Sukhum districts of the former Russian Empire. The creation of the ZDFR was one of the conditions put forward by Turkey for the cessation of hostilities.
