1938 Execution of Anastasia Bitsenko
80 years ago, on June 16, 1938, Anastasia Bitsenko, an activist of the Russian revolutionary movement, a member of the Socialist-Revolutionary Party, was shot. In 1905, she killed Adjutant General Viktor Sakharov, who brutally suppressed peasant unrest in the Saratov province. She was sentenced to death, which was commuted to indefinite hard labor. Released as a result of the February Revolution of 1917.
