1999. The death of Vyacheslav Chornovila
20 years ago, on March 25, 1999, Vyacheslav Chornovil, a Ukrainian politician and human rights activist, the leader of the people's rush of Ukraine, repeatedly exposed to repression in Soviet times, died in a car accident. CHORNOVIL, who were returning from Kirovograd by car, and his driver Evgeny Pavlov collided with KamAZ on the fifth kilometer of the Borispol-Zolotonosha highway. Chornovil was buried on the central alley of the Baykov cemetery in Kyiv.
