The State Duma has adopted the tax reform bill in its second reading. An amendment was made to it regarding the tourist tax, which will be collected in Russia for accommodation in hotels and boarding houses, noted journalist Farida Rustamova. According to the document, each municipality will be able to introduce this tax from 2025. The rate will increase gradually - from 1% of the cost of accommodation in 2025 to 5% in 2029. Formally, the tax will be paid by hotel owners.
