A variety of media, sometimes even very responsible and respected ones, often use in their materials such expressions as “small nations”, “nationality”, “local color” or talk about the “development” of territories where people had previously lived for centuries. However, all this is incorrect. Komi Daily looks at where such mistakes come from and how to speak correctly: from terms for designating indigenous peoples to rules for declension of toponyms and names of republics.

These days, few people care whether a person is legitimate or not. This very concept has almost disappeared.
