For the first time, the Russian Ministry of Defense will publish documents from the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense on the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau (Auschwitz) concentration camp by Red Army troops in January 1945. The department’s statement notes that the archive’s specialists “prepared 15 documents that were unique in their content, some of which were previously kept in secret storage and were accessible only to a narrow circle of historians.”
