The Kurgan City Court acquitted former imam Ali Yakupov, accused of inciting hatred against the social group “communists,” Kommersant reports , citing court data. Yakupov was charged under Article 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity). According to investigators, in 2016 he left a comment on VKontakte on a post about the ban on wearing the hijab in China, in which, addressing higher powers, he predicted “heavenly punishment” for the Chinese communists.
