Journalist from Chechnya Geriev, convicted in a drug possession case, filed an appeal to the ECHR
Journalist from Chechnya Zhalaudi Geriev, convicted of drug possession, filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights, his lawyer Nadezhda Ermolaeva told the Caucasian Knot. “We allege a violation of Jalaudi’s rights under Articles 3, 6, 10 of the European Convention - the inadmissibility of cruel, inhuman treatment and torture, the right to a fair trial and minimal guarantees of the rights of the defendant in the trial, as well as a violation of the right to free expression.
