Russian airlines fired more than 300 pilots in 2014, said Miroslav Boychuk, president of the Airmen's Trade Union (PLC) of Russia, Aeroflot pilot. The largest reductions, according to PLS, took place in UTair, Nordwind, Yamal and Yakutia. UTair, the largest of these airlines, fired about 300 pilots from August 2014 to March 2015, almost one in three. A representative of the UTair trade union said that there were reductions, but declined to give figures.
