In Russia, the first person was convicted under a new administrative article on extremism
On January 24, 2019, the district court in Saratov placed local resident A. Alekseev under administrative arrest for five days under the new article of the Code of Administrative Offenses “Inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity” (article 20.3.1). Alekseev was convicted for racist jokes on VKontakte, and also, under another administrative article, for publishing a song that was recognized as extremist.
