Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler together managed to overtake Tesla in sales of electric cars in Europe
Automakers BMW, Daimler and Volkswagen (VW) sold a total of almost 600,000 electric cars in Europe in 2020, overtaking Tesla in sales. This is reported by the Financial Times (FT). Thus, according to its own data, VW alone sold 159,000 electric and hybrid cars in Europe in 2020. According to analyst Matthias Schmidt, cited by the FT, 117,000 VW cars sold in Europe were fully electric. Tesla delivered 96,000 vehicles to European customers in 2020, writes FT.
