The mayor of the city of Pechora in Komi, Valery Serov, who was about to leave for the war in Ukraine, was detained shortly before his departure, reports State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Oleg Mikhailov. According to Mikhailov, Serov was detained in his apartment early in the morning by riot police. “By the way, this afternoon he was supposed to go to the Northern Military District zone, but the security forces were faster,” the deputy added.
