Thousands of Palestinians and Israelis took to the streets to welcome the peace agreement. But many in Israel are protesting because not all hostages will return home
Israel and Hamas have signed a ceasefire agreement, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed Al Thani, who mediated the talks, said late on January 15. A few hours before his speech, many media outlets wrote about the signing of the agreement, citing sources, and, without waiting for official confirmation, thousands of people in Israel and the Gaza Strip took to the streets to welcome the agreement. At the same time, hundreds of people protested in Israel who were dissatisfied with the deal.
