Puchdemon announced the beginning of "democratic resistance" in Catalonia
The leader of Catalonia, deprived of his post by the authorities in Madrid, Carles Puchdemon announced the beginning of "democratic resistance." He refused to transfer power, emphasizing that "in a democratic society, only parliaments are appointed or removed by presidents." The day before, Madrid decided to dissolve the autonomy parliament and hold early elections on December 21. The entire Catalan government (Zenerallit), including his head of Carles Puchdemon, was resigned.
