Alphabet holding shares fell 7% amid weak quarterly earnings
Revenue from the Alphabet holding company, which owns Google, amounted to $36.3 billion in the first quarter, an increase of 17% compared to the first quarter of 2018. However, this growth was below investors' expectations, and after the publication of Alphabet's report , the holding's shares fell by 7%. According to Kommersant , analysts expected Alphabet's quarterly revenue to be about $1 billion higher. In addition, its growth of 17% was the worst revenue growth in the last three years.
