Rospotrebnadzor: more than 250 cases of infection with a new subtype of the “omicron” strain have been identified in Russia
In Russia, 253 cases of infection with a new subspecies of the Omicron strain, called BA.2, have been identified. This, according to Interfax, was announced by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova. BA.2 is even more contagious than the regular omicron, she says. A subspecies of the strain was recorded in Moscow, the republics of Mari El and Bashkiria, as well as in the Rostov region.
