A witness who refused to testify in the case of Sentsov and Kolchenko spoke about torture
Gennady Afanasyev, convicted in the case of “Crimean terrorists,” spoke about the circumstances of his detention and about being forced to give deliberately false testimony against director Oleg Sentsov, the main participant in the case. These circumstances are reported by Mediazona with reference to Afanasyev’s lawyer Alexander Popkov. According to Afanasyev, he was detained on May 9, 2014, when he was going to a parade, after which they began to beat him and put him in a car.
