The drastic increase in the scale and effectiveness of Ukraine’s drone warfare threatens to jeopardise one of the main strategic and symbolic achievements of the Russian invasion: the land corridor to Crimea. The creation of this corridor was one of the strategic objectives of the Russian invasion. Ukraine’s naval blockade of Crimea demonstrated the inadequacy of its ‘return’ and left unresolved the question of its long-term development and full integration.
