In fact, by this moment at least 478 people were arrested in Karelia, later convicted in the framework of this operation . In total, 11 thousand people became victims of the “Finnish operation” of the NKVD in 1937-1938, 9078 people were sentenced to shoot, 3340 people were shot in Karelia “along the Finnish espionage line”.
