Ministry of Internal Affairs about extremists in Russia
On June 1, 2005, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Rashid Nurgaliev, at an extended meeting of the board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stated that in Russia “there are about 150 extremist groups registered with the Department for Combating Organized Crime and Terrorism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.” According to police experts, these groups unite more than 5 thousand people.
