In St. Petersburg, tombstones at the Jewish cemetery were desecrated
On October 6, 2005, in St. Petersburg, at the Jewish cemetery on Alexandrovskaya Farm Avenue, 66, tombstones were damaged. According to the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, more than 70 tombstones were damaged and toppled. On October 7, 2005, three people were detained on suspicion of committing an act of vandalism. The last attack on the territory of the Jewish cemetery in St. Petersburg was in December 2004.
