The FSB believes that conflicts between Sunnis and Shiites may break out in the Tyumen, Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions
Boris Kozinenko, head of the Council of Heads of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Urals Federal District, speaking on February 14 at an interdepartmental meeting with the plenipotentiary representative of the district, said that conflicts between Sunnis and Shiites could soon erupt in the region: "If Muslims living in the inner regions of Russia profess Sunnism, then visitors from the south of the country, as a rule, are Shiites.
