On Palm Sunday, 47 thousand people visited Orthodox churches in Moscow
Evgeny Gildeev, deputy head of the information and public relations department of the Moscow police department, told reporters that on April 16, Palm Sunday, 47,000 people attended festive services in the capital's Orthodox churches. "For comparison, last year this figure was 35,000 people," E. Gildeev said. At the same time, according to him, 147 thousand people visited the cemeteries of Moscow and the nearest suburbs - several thousand more than in 2005.
