On June 6, 2006, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation took the initiative to deny registration to candidates and parties or associations for activities of an extremist nature. The appeal of members of the Public Chamber to the deputies of the State Duma and members of the Federation Council says that the federal law "On countering extremist activity" is outdated.

After the end of the event, in which activists of the National Bolshevik Party also took part, buses with riot police drove up to the park near the stadium, and the riot police began to detain the National Bolsheviks, and the detentions were accompanied by beatings.

On May 3, 2006, "Izvestia" published an article by Alexander Andryukhin "Gypsy hypnotists returned to Moscow." The article tells about a series of frauds committed with the help of hypnosis. The author connects this with the release from prison of two fraudsters convicted in 2003. To confirm this version, the article cites episodes of both 2006 and 2003.

On June 4, 2006, in the city of Zhukovka, Bryansk region, near the city market, a picket was held by supporters of the Movement Against Illegal Immigration (DPNI), directed against merchants from Azerbaijan. The participants of the picket were holding DPNI flags and posters with slogans: "Russia is not a gatehouse! On June 6 and 7, 2006, activists of the National Bolshevik Party continued distributing party publications at the World Newspaper Congress in Moscow. Participants in both actions were detained and taken to the Kitai-Gorod police station. On June 6, 2006, NBP activists Nikolai Novokhatsky and Nikolai Khrapov were detained, who were handing out the book "Limonov against Putin", as well as the newspapers "On the edge" and "Friend of the people" to the congress participants.

On the afternoon of May 20, 2006, before the start of the football match between Spartak and CSKA, fans of the two teams clashed at the Krasnye Vorota metro station. According to an eyewitness who was riding in the same subway car where the fight took place, some of the participants in the brawl (among them shaven-headed teenagers without special fan symbols) walked around the car and drove them from their seats, insulted and beat passengers of non-Slavic appearance.

The press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) reported that there are 396 churches in the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia: 370 Orthodox churches, 18 mosques, five Buddhist dugans and three churches. Also in correctional institutions there are 695 prayer rooms, 228 Sunday schools and 902 libraries of spiritual literature.

On June 6, 2006, a trial began in Belgorod in the case of the organized criminal group "Belgorod National Corps" (BNC), 11 members of which are accused of brutally beating a Roma family motivated by national hatred. BNC operated in the region for about three years.

On June 6, 2006, members of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation proposed to deny or cancel registration for elections to candidates whose activities have signs of extremism. In connection with this initiative, it is proposed to amend a number of "extremist" laws.
