Statement by the SOVA Information and Analytical Center on the events in Kondopoga
The tragic events in a small Karelian town require a serious investigation, not only because of the media resonance they caused, but also because similar events could be repeated in many more places in Russia, just as the current events have obvious antecedents. - in Yandyki, Salsk, Kharagun, etc. We are convinced that such phenomena should be seen primarily as a series of crimes, and not as a political problem, much less as an "ethnic conflict".
