At the end of September 2007, the court of the city of Abakan (Republic of Khakassia) delivered a verdict in a case of robbery and extortion, in which the motive of national hatred was recognized. The defendants, Sergei Lamanov and Aleksey Tsedrik, were sentenced to 13 and 12 years in a strict regime colony for robbery with illegal entry into someone else's home, extortion with the use of force, and theft of a passport.
