The newspaper banned by the Synod criticizes the methods of work of Russian Orthodox Church missionaries with informal youth
The newspaper “The Spirit of a Christian,” published with the blessing of defrocked Bishop Diomede of Chukotka and banned by the Synod due to carrying out “activities harmful to the church,” condemned the methods of work of Orthodox missionaries with informal youth, Interfax reports. A regular contributor to the newspaper, priest Alexander Kolesnikov, stated that “the ideology of informal gatherings is based on paganism.” In addition, he considers protest a manifestation of pride.
