On February 2, 2009, the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City Court convicted three Nazi skinheads (one young man, born in 1986 and two girls, born in 1989), who had been distributing nationalist leaflets. They were found guilty under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting national hatred and enmity committed in public).

On February 3, 2009, it became known that the decision of the Sovetsky District Court of the city of Ivanovo on recognizing 6 publications as "extremist materials" came into legal force. In January 2007, during a search in a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity), books and brochures of "nationalist and historical content" were confiscated from the suspect.

In 2008, in the official publication of the Union of Writers of North Ossetia - the magazine "Mah dug" ("Our era"), a poem was published by a well-known poet in Ossetia, the dean of the journalism faculty of SOGU, Shamil Dzhigkaev. According to the Spiritual Board of Muslims, the poem offends religious feelings.

On February 1, 2009, in Moscow, police officers issued a "warning against saying extremist slogans in a public place" to Dmitry Demushkin, leader of the "Slavic Union", for his negative remarks about the natives of China.

On January 28, 2009, the Altai Regional Court began considering a criminal case against members of the Wolves of Odin group of Nazi skinheads, suspected of committing a series of attacks and two murders motivated by ethnic hatred in Barnaul in 2007. There are 7 people involved in the case. The hearing is held behind closed doors.

On January 31, at a general meeting of the Muslim parish of the village of Komsomolskoye in the Republic of Chuvashia, in the presence of the head of the Komsomolsky district, Gennady Volkov, the issue of allocating a land plot for the construction of a mosque was once again raised. The Muslims of Komsomolsk have been seeking permission from the municipal authorities for the construction of a mosque for five years.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Buryatia acted as the organizer of the "lessons of Orthodoxy" with "difficult" teenagers who are registered with the departments for juvenile affairs. These lessons were held in 25 Orthodox parishes, they were conducted by 27 clergymen. The classes were attended by 638 teenagers from dysfunctional families, 326 registered with the internal affairs departments. Police officers believe that such events will help prevent crimes among minors.

On January 29, 2008, searches and detentions took place in Tyumen among local anarchists and public activists in connection with a case under Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (vandalism committed by a group of persons, as well as for reasons of political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred or enmity, or for reasons of hatred or enmity against any social group).
