On February 6, 2009, a criminal case was initiated in the Republic of Bashkortostan under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities using the media) against Airat Dilmukhametov, editor of the Maidan newspaper. The case was initiated on the fact of publication in the November issue of the newspaper (No. 1 (12)) for 2008 of materials with "extremist appeals" .

In December 2008, a trial began on the claim of the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery for the eviction from the house of Valery Belyaev, a resident of the village of Zakhnovo, Pechora District. V. Belyaev, who does not have Russian citizenship and uses a USSR passport, was invited by the community of the church of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God in 2002 as a wood carver. The community bought a house, land and a cow for him and his wife.

On February 6, 2009, in Veliky Novgorod, a 22-year-old resident of the city, Evgenia Savelyeva, was sentenced, accused under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity) for posting files of a nationalistic nature on the Internet. Savelyeva posted on the Internet the texts "Kafiram", "Estonian sniper", "Anti-Semitism of Anti-Genghis Khan", "Russian Muslims against terrorists", "Afghan traitor", etc.

On February 2, 2009, the Central District Court of Kaliningrad convicted Vladimir Levchenko under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity committed in public). The court found that on September 18, 2004, at a rally in Kaliningrad near the monument to Lenin on Victory Square, Levchenko made a speech containing nationalistic expressions that humiliated people from the Caucasus, Jews, Chechens and Gypsies.

On February 5, 2009, the Channel Five program "Emergency Call - 112" aired a story about bullying at school, to which one of the students is systematically subjected. Ilya Fedyunin, a student of the St. Petersburg gymnasium N327, became the object of extortion and racist insults from a high school student (the boy is not only extorted money, he is systematically humiliated and subjected to physical violence).

On January 14, the Armavir city court passed a guilty verdict on Andrey Mozzhegorov . For distributing the pamphlet of the monk Athanasius "Give us the Motherland!" he was found guilty under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting national, racial, religious hatred) and sentenced to four months in the settlement. On the night of February 6, 2009, two Nigerians were attacked near the Kuzminki metro station in Moscow. The Africans were stopped by a man and invited to visit him.
