On March 9, 2009, in St. Petersburg, on the day of the celebration of the Jewish holiday Purim, Nazi skinheads attacked student Yakov Podolny, the son of an employee of the Jewish agency Sokhnut, on Nevsky Prospekt. When Y. Podolny and a friend were crossing the avenue, he was attacked by two young people. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers were dressed in traditional Nazi skinhead clothing.
