Another update to the list of extremist materials
of Extremist Materials was again replenished On March 20, the Federal List . It includes paragraphs. 328 - 340, among which there are Muslim editions. A criminal case has been initiated in Kostroma under Art. 282
On March 10, 2009, a criminal case was initiated in Kostroma under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (actions aimed at inciting hatred or enmity, committed with the use of violence) against a 23-year-old Nazi skinhead detained on March 2, suspected of beating a 16-year- old punk. The investigation believes that the beating of the punk was motivated by the subcultural affiliation of the Nazi skinhead.

Search at Memorial declared illegal again
On March 20, 2009, in St. Petersburg, the Dzerzhinsky City Court again at the Memorial Research Center ruled that the search in connection with the criminal case against the Novy Peterburg newspaper was illegal. A Muslim prayer hall opened in Balashikha
On March 19, a Muslim prayer hall (musalla) was opened in Balashikha near Moscow. The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin, Deputy Minister of the Government of the Moscow Region S. Komarov and the mayor of the city V. Samodelov. The Muslim community in Balashikha has existed for 15 years. All this time, believers did not have their own premises and gathered for rituals in a residential building.

The ECHR has suspended the extradition from Russia of a citizen of Uzbekistan accused of collaborating with banned religious organizations
On March 20, the European Court of Human Rights suspended the extradition of 29-year-old Uzbek citizen Nabi Sultanov from Russia. Another update of the Federal List of Extremist Materials
On March 20, 2009, new additions to the Federal List of Extremist Materials were made on the website of the Ministry of Justice . It included paragraphs. 328 - 340.
