In the summer of 2009, a criminal case was opened in Snezhinsk (Chelyabinsk region) under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity) for the publication of Nazi materials in LiveJournal by one of the residents of the city, 46-year-old A. Sofronov, "positioning himself" as a "true Orthodox Christian, Transbaikal Cossack, Russian nationalist" .
