Searches were conducted at the premises of alleged followers of Said Nursi in Dagestan
In mid-December, police officers in Dagestan raided the apartments and homes of alleged followers of the Turkish theologian Said Nursi, whose books are banned in Russia as extremist. Searches took place in Makhachkala, Derbent, Izberbash and several other cities. During the searches, literature, computers, CDs and flash drives were seized. Criminal cases were initiated against two people under Art. 282.2 (organization of an extremist community).
