An expert council has been set up in the Chelyabinsk region to combat "sects" and occult groups. The Council is a structural subdivision of the regional society of psychiatrists. The new structure included Konstantin Putnik, Deputy Head of the Missionary Department of the Chelyabinsk Diocese, and Marat Sabirov, Head of the Administration of the Regional Spiritual Board of Muslims. The Council was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Irina Shadrina.
