The authorities of Birobidzhan, under pressure from the Orthodox diocese, tried to ban Protestants from holding an Easter concert
On May 23, 2011, it became known that the Birobidzhan authorities were trying to ban the festive Easter concert scheduled for 24 April. The event was organized by six Protestant churches cities, including Baptists, Pentecostals, and Presbyterians. An agreement with the Philharmonic Directorate was reached in two month. However, on April 11, the organizers were informed by phone about the cancellation of the concert, without stating the reason for the refusal.
