In Nizhny Novgorod, the prosecutor's office declared illegal the detention of a lawyer of the Committee against Torture on suspicion of distributing extremist materials
February 22, 2012 press service of the Committee against Torture reported that the Nizhny Novgorod transport prosecutor's office partially satisfied the complaint of Anton Ryzhov, lawyer of the committee, against the actions of the police officers. Anton Ryzhov was detained in Nizhny Novgorod on January 21, 2012 of the year when he got off the train, returning from a planned trip to Chechnya in as part of the Consolidated Mobile Group of Human Rights Defenders.
