More than 80% of Russians go to churches to light candles
On February 27, 2012, the results of the survey “Why do Russians come to church?”, Conducted by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center on February 18-19 in 138 settlements in 46 subjects of the federation, were published. According to the study, since 1996 the number of those attending temples (including mosques, synagogues) has increased from 57 to 71%. Of these, 7% go at least once a month, 30% go from time to time, and 34% rarely go.
