The mass protests of Ukrainian citizens and the rise of the new government in Kiev were accompanied by an intense and not always adequate information campaign, in which Maidan activists, the political opposition and, accordingly, the new government formed after the victory of the revolution, were characterized as ultranationalist, extremist and xenophobic.
