Racism and Xenophobia in April 2018
In April 2018, we learned about only one victim of xenophobic violence, which occurred in Moscow. In total since the start of the year at least eight people were victims of racially motivated violence, of which three were killed. These attacks took place in four regions of Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Kursk and Moscow regions. (Note that these statistics do not include the victims of incidents that took place in the republics of the Northern Caucasus and Crimea).

Attack at the Sakharov Center in Moscow
On May 1, 2018Cossacks, a few activists from the so-called Lugansk People’s Republic andmembers of the nationalist SERB movement attempted to break into the SakharovCenter in Moscow, where the art festival Muse of the Unruly was underway. Abrawl ensued at the entrance to the building. On May 1, 2018 in Moscow,several dozen people attempted to force entry into Moscow’s Sakharov Center,setting off a row in the process.

Nationalists at the rally on May 5
On May 5, 2018, actions of supporters of Alexei Navalny "He is not our tsar" took place in different cities of the country, in some of which nationalists took part. In Moscow, from the ultra-right to the actions of Alexei Navalny "He not a king" was attended by a group of supporters of the Popular Resistance Association (ANS) led by their leader Dmitry Karasev. Joined this group several activists of the National Revolutionary Vanguard (NRA).

Three St. Petersburg Scientologists face final charges
Sahib Aliyev, Anastasia Terentyeva and Constance Esaulkova have been charged. On May 7, 2018, it became known that three members of the Church of Scientology of St. Petersburg, arrested in June 2017, accusations in the final wording: Sahib Aliyev, Anastasia Terentyeva and Constance Esaulkova.
