Jehovah's Witnesses published data on persecution under "extremist" articles of the Criminal Code as of the end of 2019. On December 31, 2019, a summary of the criminal prosecution of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia was published. They are accused of continuing the activities of an extremist organization due to the fact that in 2017 the Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia and 395 local religious organizations were recognized as extremist organizations.

Five Jehovah's Witnesses from Volgograd are accused of participating in the activities of an extremist organization and financing extremism. On January 9, 2020, the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd Region announced the completion of the investigation into the case of five Jehovah's Witnesses accused of continuing the activities of an extremist organization.

Nine believers are suspected of organizing the activities of an extremist organization and participating in it. On January 3, 2020, it became known that in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Territory, a criminal case was initiated under Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organization of the activities of an extremist organization and participation in it). Nine followers of the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses became suspects. 60-year-old Sergei Kuznetsov is suspected under Part 1 of Art.

Uzbek citizen Eva Repina, who lived in Norilsk, was banned from entering Russia until 2038, despite the fact that her case under Art. 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses was terminated. The FSB of Russia banned entry into the country until the end of 2038, a resident of Norilsk, a citizen of Uzbekistan, Eva Repina, in connection with which the Ministry of Internal Affairs canceled her temporary residence permit (TRP). Repina herself informed the SOVA center about this.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, night services were held at 5.7 thousands of settlements. They were visited by about 2.3 million people. In the Vladimir region on the night of January 7 151 divine services were held, in which 16 thousand people participated.
