Tatarstan: the head of the Society of Russian Culture was fined for words about the persecution of Christians
Activist Mikhail Shcheglov was punished under Art. 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for statements in a letter to the head of Tatarstan about the inadmissibility of closing temples for quarantine. On July 31, 2020, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan fined Mikhail Shcheglov, Chairman of the Society of Russian Culture, 10,000 rubles under Art. 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity).
