In September 2022, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, following a suit filed by the General Prosecutor's Office, recognized three Ukrainian organizations as extremist: C14, also known as SIC, the Volunteer Movement of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, and the Black Committee. The trial was held behind closed doors. C14 is a neo-Nazi organization. It was founded in 2009 (according to other sources - in 2010).

Two Barnaul residents were punished under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. On July 27, 2022, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court fined Navrek Torosyan under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (mass distribution of extremist materials), the amount of the fine is not specified. On September 8, the same court fined Olga Korobko a thousand rubles.

Ravshan Saliev was found guilty of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization and facilitating terrorist activities. On September 8, 2022, it became known that on August 8, the Central District Military Court found a foreign citizen Ravshan Saliev, who lived in the Penza region, guilty under Part 2 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization) and Part 1.1 of Art.

The following is our monthly review of instances of xenophobia and radical nationalism, along with any government countermeasures, for August 2022. We are aware of only one person having suffered in a xenophobically-motivated attack this month: a black person was assaulted in St. Petersburg. Since the beginning of the year, we have recorded incidents in which a total of 17 individuals were attacked, and an additional case of a credible death threat.
