Six believers are accused under Art. 282.2 and 282.3 of the Criminal Code. On November 30, the Office of the Investigative Committee for Crimea and Sevastopol reported on the completion of the criminal case against six local Jehovah’s Witnesses. Depending on what they did, they are charged under the CC. 1 and 2 tbsp. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organization and participation in the activities of an extremist organization) and Part 1 of Art.

In September 2023, the court sentenced Ruslan Abdullaev to 2 years and 2 months in a general regime colony. In November 2023, the sentence was increased. On September 7, 2023, the Kirovsky District Court of Makhachkala rendered a verdict in the case under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organization).

According to the Ministry of Justice, which filed a lawsuit, the LGBT movement is stirring up social and religious discord in Russia. On November 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of Russia recognized the “international public movement of LGBT people” as an extremist organization. The consideration of the case took place behind closed doors. Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Justice went to court with a demand to ban the LGBT movement as an extremist organization.
